![]() ![]() The environments are lush and wild, but there are also scenes of destroyed but modern-looking civilizations, making us believe this is going to take place on an Earth-like planet but not Earth itself. The giant sphere in the sky appear to play a large part in that. However, paying close attention does give us some hints at the world we’ll be inhabiting.įirst, we know that this world will have a combination of guns, monsters, and some invading threat that may be from another world. There’s no voice-over, text, or anything to really get an idea of what the story is going to be in this game. The trailer we got for Project Magnum is almost entirely gameplay or meant to look like it, with a few instances of cutscenes sprinkled in here or there. Project Magnum (Working Title) - Official Teaser Trailer | PS5, PS4 ![]() Whether it will be a permanent exclusive or eventually make its way to other platforms, such as Xbox, remains to be seen. So, altogether, that makes this a PS4-, PS5-, and PC-exclusive title. Digging just a little bit deeper, though, we also found the official description stating that the game was a “PC/console-based game,” as well as the full title of the trailer listing the PS4 as well as PS5. The trailer itself was posted on PlayStation’s own official YouTube channel, and the footage shown was labeled as running on the PS5, so from that, we could easily tell this game is at least coming to that platform. Based on how it looks, though, we can see it coming early 2023 or maybe at the end of 2022, but no sooner. We don’t expect to even hear about a possible release window for a while yet, probably not until next year. Pywel may contain mysterious beings from a distant world, “perhaps even a world that exist time yet to be,” rather than a typical fantasy setting. It will probably come as no surprise, but Project Magnum, which doesn’t even have an official title, wasn’t given a release date. Players may come across “filthy alleys, destitute hovels, and marketplace language that would make even a Troll blush,” according to the game’s description. Players can hack and slash their way through enemies in the broad plains of Akapen, try to survive the inhabitable cold lands of Kweiden, and travel through the Desert Oases in the shoes of a protagonist resembles Jon Snow from Game of Thrones.Īlthough Pearl Abyss warns that “gritty realism often precedes aesthetic beauty,” and that players may have to “scrape away the grime to see it,” each area has its own distinct look. ![]() To do so, MacDuff must travel to Pywel and earn the trust of a diverse cast of characters, each with their own backstory and reasons for joining, avoiding, or opposing MacDuff’s mercenary company. Players assume the role of MacDuff, a mercenary who must assemble a team of battle-hardened fighters to reclaim his people’s lands from threatening foes such as corrupt rulers or a mysterious Desert-based cult. Even if the stressful gameplay seen in the trailer is indicative of the game’s real gameplay, a Winter 2021 release date seems quite exciting. Of course, a lot can change during the game’s development. However, based on the clips seen in the Game Awards teaser, it indicates that the team has made considerable strides in the production of Crimson Desert. Until now, Pearl Abyss has maintained a low profile when it comes to this latest title. Crimson Desert will most likely have a year jam-packed with a ton of information as the season approaches, with a release window set for Winter 2021. However, with the announcement of the latest gameplay trailer, players now have some details on what players should expect this widely awaited title to be published. Crimson Desert is yet to be issued a definite release date. ![]()
